. DIRECTION DE L’ANIMATION DE LA RECHERCHE, DES ETUDES ET DES STATISTIQUES (DARES)

La direction de l'animation de la recherche, des études et des statistiques est chargée d'assurer, en liaison avec l'INSEE, la production régulière et fiable des statistiques utiles au ministère et aux acteurs sociaux (partenaires sociaux, conseils régionaux, acteurs du secteur public de l'emploi, presse économique et sociale). Elle est chargée plus généralement de mettre à la disposition de ces derniers, au travers de ses publications, les éléments de statistique, d'étude, d'évaluation et de recherche qui leur sont nécessaires. Elle a vocation à constituer un pôle d'expression et de référence dans le débat social sur les questions de travail, d'emploi et de formation professionnelle, en promouvant les données statistiques et résultats d'études dont elle est à l'origine. En liaison avec les autres directions, elle promeut aussi et coordonne la politique d'évaluation menée au sein du ministère, coordonne les programmes d'études réalisés sous son égide, et anime les travaux de recherche dans les domaines qui intéressent le ministère. Elle exerce également un rôle d'alerte, d'initiative et de proposition au sein du ministère en fonction des évolutions constatées au travers des statistiques, études et recherches. . DIRECTION DE LA RECHERCHE DES ETUDES DE L’EVALUATION ET DES STATISTIQUES (DREES)

La Direction de la recherche, des études, de l'évaluation et des statistiques (Drees), du ministère de l'emploi et de la solidarité, a été créée par le décret du 30 novembre 1998. Elle intègre de nouvelles fonctions en matière d'études et d'évaluation qui s'ajoutent aux fonctions antérieurement exercées par le Sesi et la MIRe en matière de recherche. La Drees réalise des études et des projections socio-démographiques, économiques et financières. Elle élabore des synthèses, notamment, les comptes de la santé et les comptes de la protection sociale. Elle a aussi pour mission de coordonner et d'animer les études menées sous l'égide du ministère. Elle analyse les effets structurels des politiques sociales et participe à la conception, à la validation et à la mise en oeuvre des méthodes d'évaluation. . INSTITUT NATIONAL DE LA STATISTIQUE ET DES ETUDES ECONOMIQUES (INSEE)

L'Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques (Insee) collecte, produit et diffuse des informations sur l'économie et la société française afin que tous les acteurs intéressés (administration, entreprises, chercheurs, médias, enseignants, particuliers) puissent les utiliser pour effectuer des études, faire des prévisions et prendre des décisions. Les articles de la revue "Economie et statistique" sont en ligne ainsi que la série "Insee première".

Service public de l'emploi issu de la la fusion ANPE-UNEDIC
Pour chacun des domaines statistiques, études et international, deux types de publications accueillent les travaux d’analyses statistiques, de synthèses d'études et d'évaluations, et de résultats d'enquêtes.

. GROUPEMENT DE RECHERCHE EN ÉCONOMIE QUANTITATIVE D'AIX-MARSEILLE (GREQAM)

Le Groupement de Recherche en Économie Quantitative d'Aix-Marseille constitué en Janvier 1994, a pour mission, en matière de recherche et d'enseignement doctoral, la progression de la théorie économique et la résolution de questions économiques et économétriques. Le groupement, composé d'économistes, d'économètres, de mathématiciens et de statisticiens, accorde une place importante aux travaux de modélisation tout en s'ouvrant, pour l'exploration de questions en dehors du champ des théories formalisées, à des méthodes plus proches des descriptions ou de l'analyse des données.

. THEORIE ECONOMIQUE, MODELISATION ET APPLICATIONS (THEMA)

Le THEMA est un laboratoire de recherche en économie, commun aux universités de Cergy-Pontoise et de Paris X-Nanterre. Les domaines de spécialisation initiaux du laboratoire centrés autour de l’analyse microéconomique sont restés des champs privilégiés de la recherche au THEMA : économie publique, théorie des jeux, théorie des contrats, économie industrielle, économie de l’assurance, finance, microéconométrie. D’autres domaines prennent cependant une importance croissante dans leur projet scientifique, et tout particulièrement la macroéconomie et la macroéconométrie.

The Department of Social Welfare was founded in 1947 and is responsible for the administration of schemes of social insurance and social assistance within the state system of social security.
The Department is divided into two main parts - the Aireacht and Social Welfare Services.
On July 12th, 1997 the Department was renamed The Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs and in June 2002 was given it's current title Department of Social and Family Affairs.
It is the Department's mission to promote social well-being through income and other supports which enable people to participate in society in a positive way.

. CPB NETHERLANDS BUREAU FOR ECONOMIC POLICY ANALYSIS

CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis was founded over fifty years ago as the Centraal Planbureau (Central Planning Bureau), with Nobel laureate Jan Tinbergen as its first managing director. CPB provides independent forecasts and analyses that are scientifically sound and up-to-date and that are relevant for the policy decisions of government, parliament, and other societal organisations such as political parties, trade unions, and employer's associations. CPB combines two tasks which in other countries tend to be separate: it is the accounting centre for budgetary and economic policy and a research centre preparing independent forecasts and analyses.

. DEPARTMENT FOR WORK AND PENSIONS

The Department is responsible for delivering support and advice through a modern network of services to people of working age, employers, pensioners, families and children and disabled people. The "A-Z of benefits and services" gives information about DWP benefits and services. Social Research Division provides a service to the whole of the Department for Work and Pensions. It is part of a government-wide Government Social Research network, within which the division has particularly strong links with similar units in the Employment Service, Inland Revenue and the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions. The Department has a "research report series". This is the main medium for publishing the results of work in the research programme. The Social Research Division also has an "in-house report" and summary series, publishes "methodological working papers", issues a twice-yearly newsletter and a paper announcing the research programme.

. THE BROOKINGS INSTITUTION

In its research, The Brookings Institution functions as an independent analyst and critic, committed to publishing its findings for the information of the public. In its conferences and activities, it serves as a bridge between scholarship and public policy, bringing new knowledge to the attention of decision-makers and affording scholars a better insight into public policy issues. The Brookings Institution's "social welfare" presents articles about poverty, working poor, welfare reform. In 2002, Congress must reauthorize the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and a number of related programs that were created or dramatically altered by the landmark welfare reform legislation enacted in 1996. And even before then, Congress will be considering tax cuts that have important implications for low-income families. The Brookings Institution’s Welfare Reform & Beyond Initiative is intended to inform these critical policy debates in several ways.

. CENTER ON BUDGET AND POLICY PRIORITIES (CBPP)

Founded in 1981, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities has emerged over the past two decades as one of the leading organizations in the country working on fiscal policy issues and issues affecting low- and moderate-income families and individuals. The Center specializes in research and analysis oriented toward policy decisions that policymakers face at both federal and state levels. . INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH ON POVERTY

The IRP is a national, university-based center for research into the causes and consequences of poverty and social inequality in the United States. It is nonprofit and nonpartisan. The Institute was established in 1966 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison by the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity, the organization given responsibility for reducing poverty in America. In the years since then, the Institute's multidisciplinary affiliates have formulated and tested basic theories of poverty and inequality.
Most of IRP's publications are on line. A "welfare reform research database" with subject the 'Earned Income Tax Credit" is available.

. JOINT CENTER FOR POVERTY RESEARCH (JCPR)

The Northwestern University / University of Chicago Joint Center for Poverty Research supports academic research that examines what it means to be poor and live in America. JCPR concentrates on the causes and consequences of poverty in America and the effectiveness of policies aimed at reducing poverty. The Center's research agenda focuses on : changing labor markets and the causes of inequality in the current labor market; family functioning and the well-being of children; the impact of concentrated urban poverty; and the effects in these domains - and others - of changing policy and new programs (on this website, you can find an "EITC information clearinghouse").

MANPOWER DEMONSTRATION RESEARCH CORPORATION

MDRC is a non-profit, non-partisan social policy research organization. We are dedicated to learning what works to improve the well-being of low-income people. Through our research and the active communication of our findings, we seek to enhance the effectiveness of public policies and programs.

Mathematica Policy Research, is known for its high-quality, objective research to support decisions about our nation's most pressing social policy problems. Depuis 1991, la Société de recherche sociale appliquée (SRSA) acquiert des connaissances et de l'expérience pour "découvrir les approches efficaces" en politique sociale et en apprendre davantage sur celles qui ne le sont pas. La SRSA est reconnue à l'échelle du Canada et à l'échelle internationale en tant que chef de file dans le domaine de la recherche et de l'expérimentation en politique sociale. . ORGANISATION DE COOPERATION ET DE DEVELOPPEMENT ECONOMIQUES

L'OCDE procède au suivi des réformes des systèmes d'imposition et de prestations, de la mise en place des prestations liées à l'exercice d'un emploi et des crédits d'impôt applicables aux revenus du travail ; à cette fin, elle met à profit la base de données sur laquelle repose la série Systèmes de prestations et incitations au travail, qu'elle établit conjointement avec la Division des affaires fiscales de l'OCDE.
Cette série a pour but d'analyser l'interaction complexe qui s'exerce entre le système d'imposition et le système de prestations sociales pour des catégories de familles et des situations professionnelles très diverses.
